Baskets & Blooms Bin

Good Afternoon!
How cute is this little basket?? I made this using the BIGZ Baskets and Blooms die! I used Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette cardstock, and pink taffeta ribbon. The flower was cut out using the Flower embosslit die, and the leaves were punched out with the 5 Petal Flower punch. I used the Eyelet Border punch to edge the chocolate chip trim on the front and back of the bin. Just think of all the cute things that you could use it for?! Cards, a small loaf of banana bread, cookies, candy, small gifts, OR, it could make a darling little baby cradle!!!

After you punch out the handle pieces from the Bigz Baskets & Blooms die, you will need to score them. They should both have 2 tabs that look similar. I think it's about 3/8" from the edge. Now lets get the front/back/bottom piece. You could really make this any width that you want. I chose to make it wide enough to accomodate standard size cards and envelopes, 5 7/8" x 8 1/4". Then, you will need to score this every 2 3/4". The front, back and bottom are each 2 3/4".

Now, just attach the tabs on the "handle pieces" to the inside of the front/back piece, like shown. You will have a gap at the bottom of the ends, we'll take care of that later.

You will probably have little corners that stick up from your tabs. I just cut them off with scissors.

Because the handle pieces that were cut out with the die are slightly curved at the bottom, they left a gap. Here is what I did:

I cut two small pieces of cardstock, which I scored, folded, and added adhesive to, and attached one on each of the short ends of the bin where the gaps were. The photo on the right shows how nicely the gap closed up.

Now, you are ready to decorate!! Have fun!!

It is a dear little basket, would be great for when a Plate of food is required. Would be a big saving on plates, which I tend to forget to collect afterwards.
Your very clever to be able to make such nice things. I am not at all crafty.
